I've used MS word pretty actively since high school which is when I really started to write papers and have any reason to use it. Anything before high school never really requires you to have to use Microsoft word. Especially in middle school, if you did have to actually write a paper or something like that, it was always on paper for me at least. In terms of teachers, I've never really seen many teachers heavily use them. I feel like they don't have much of a reason to however I could be wrong. Maybe when handing out paper assignments or announcements that they created. Freshman year, I got pressured into letting a friend of mine replicate a CGS assignment that I did. He was in the same class just another time as mine so we figured it wouldn't be a big deal. Little did we know we both got in trouble for it for violating the FSU academic honor policy. As a teacher, you want to see different work and see others express themselves as much as possible. For digital di
What influences teachers and students to use technology in classrooms these days is that only are we in an era where almost everything you do has to do with some sort of technology, whether it is calling an uber to work or class, logging into your canvas for school, purchasing things on amazon, etc. Also, it is a lot easier to navigate and want to learn things if it is through technology and not some old fashion way. I am a big advocate for the designer standard. I've always been really into media, video editing, picture editing and everything that has to do with photoshop and 3d. Using digital tools is a great way to learn how to excel in todays technology. I think that in the next 15/20 years, pretty much almost everything will be digitally designed and needed to use. The collaborator seems to be a bit outside of my skill set for the reason that I like working more by myself than I do with others. Working with others stresses me out and makes me think that one person is doing
My name is Kevin Dacruz. I am 21 year old senior here at Florida State University. I am originally from a small town in Connecticut, but moved to Tampa FL as a kid and grew up most of my life there. I am majoring in Media Communication Studies and plan to move to Los Angeles for work after college.  I've always seen technology being used in a school setting ever since I was very young. Whether it was using a computer for an AR test in elementary school, checking out books in the library, or if it was my math teachers using smart boards and elmos for lectures. The smart boards are probably the most advanced technology piece I remember seeing. A lot of my teachers also used a good amount of powerpoints to teach class. In this class I hope to learn how to use different types of programs and technologies I never was familiar with, as well as being able to use it in the educational fashion.
